The Department of Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills provides comprehensive health services for adults, from health screening and prevention to care of complex, chronic illnesses. Hospitalists at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills serve as attending physicians for patients admitted to medicine units and provide high quality care to acutely ill patients with complex medical problems including diabetes, hypertension, infections and multiple organ system disorders.
Upon discharge, your hospitalist will be in touch with your primary care physician to discuss additional treatment, help arrange any follow-up care and prescribe medications. The hospitalist discusses the discharge medications and follows up with you.
